Long Service Awards

LGANT has developed the Long Service Awards as a way to recognise long term contributions to local government by officers and elected members. Councils can nominate those who have served 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30+ years for any Northern Territory local government body.

Eligibility

The awards are open to current and former local government officers and elected members. Service does not need to be continuous and includes those on community government councils prior to 2008.

How to apply

Councils can nominate its long serving officers and/or elected members by submitting the Long Service Award nomination forms below.

Key dates

  • Nominations open – July
  • Nominations close – 2nd Week of October
  • Award presentation to Officers – date to be organised by the appropriate council for presentation during council meeting
  • Award presentation to Elected Members – at the LGANT November Convention Dinner
 

Public Service Officer Award

LGANT has developed the Public Service Officer Award as a way to acknowledge those public sector employees from the Northern Territory and the Commonwealth Governments who have demonstrated a true partnership approach in working with councils, treat the local government sector with respect and go the extra mile in engaging with councils for the benefit of communities.

How to apply

Councils can nominate a Public Service Officer by submitting the nomination form below.
