Councillor Peter Panquee

Peter has been an elected member of the City of Darwin Council (CoD) since 2017 and  a member of the LGANT Executive as the City of Darwin nominated member since 2018.  

Peter has been on numerous LGANT committees and provided input into such  documents as the Strategic Plan 2021-2024 and the LGANT Reconciliation Action Plan  (RAP) 2022-2023. He has also been on the committee to review the RAP.  

Peter represents the CoD on the Top End Tourism Board and has represented the CoD at  the last four Australian Local Government Association National General Assembly’s in  Canberra. Peter is also the CoD nominee on the Development Consent Authority for  Darwin, the CoD Administrative Review Committee and the CEO’s Performance Review  Committee. 

Peter has a bachelor’s degree in Aboriginal Community Management and Community  Development which assists him in his role as a Councillor and member of the LGANT  Board. He also has over 35 years’ experience working in the NT Government in the  following areas: Aboriginal health, community health, community development,  juvenile justice and correctional services.
