Deputy Mayor Georgina Macleod

Georgina has served Victoria Daly Regional Council as the Daguragu Ward member having been first elected in 2009.

Having grown up on a remote cattle Station and being educated through Katherine School of the Air for Primary School and Secondary education obtained attending Boarding School in Adelaide, Georgina has a comprehensive understanding of the challenges communities face living remotely.

Georgina is driven to see remote communities have the same community facilities as urban centres and is driven to improve the living environment, and economic opportunities.

Currently serving as Community Housing Officer, and member of the Local Authority, Georgina has also served as a Justice of The Peace for over 25 years.

Georgina’s previous experiences range from owning and operating a pastoral property and meatworks, educating her children through Katherine School of the Air, managing a remote community store, and working with Corrections.
