The WALGA Employee Relations (ER) service delivers professional industrial relations (IR) and human resource (HR) advisory, industrial advocacy and consultancy services to LGANT members. LGANT has engaged WALGA to deliver this service which provides council with unlimited access to a team of nine IR/HR specialists with specific local government experience and knowledge.

WALGA ER has a large range of resources available to LGANT members including template policies, procedures and letters, comprehensive ER Guides on common HR/IR subjects, recorded webinars and access to all previous ER alerts. WALGA ER provides the following services to LGANT members:
WALGA ER also offers consultancy services (subject to capacity and a fee for service) in relation to enterprise agreement negotiations, in-depth policy review, position description classifications and custom/onsite workshops (i.e. position description classification workshop, policy and procedure training and bargaining workshops).

LGANT Members can undertake a number of training courses for officers delivered by the WALGA ER team, including a unique sector specific course on Understanding and Applying the Local Government Industry Award 2020. Training can be delivered remotely or onsite.
